Planning permission secured for an electric vehicle charging hub with ultra-rapid charging points on Purley Way, transforming a redundant car park in Metropolitan Open Land into an attractively landscaped facility for EV drivers.

As electric car sales continue to rise so demand for electric charging in the UK rises and there is a real need for more public charging points. The latest forecasts indicate London will need 69,000-79,000 public charge points by 2035.With experience of this emerging technology allied with a knowledge of its location in Croydon, Terrapin assisted Hubber Infrastructure Ltd to secure planning permission for a development of an electric vehicle charging hub with ultra-rapid charging points, at a site on Purley Way in Croydon.
The site is in Metropolitan Open Land and was a car park serving redundant changing rooms facilities used in association with Purley Way playing fields. Conveniently located on the busy A23, the site will be transformed into an attractively landscaped facility for electric vehicle drivers and will make another small contribution to the UK Governments’ net zero carbon targets for the transport sector.
