The development, designed by Tate Hindle Architects, involved joining two buildings situated back to back on neighbouring roads to create 14,500m²of office space, a new landscaped courtyard and a new pedestrian connection through the site in a sensitive part of Southwark. The application sought planning permission and listed building consent for the re-use and extension of 4-5 Paris Garden and redevelopment of 18-19 Hatfields. Terrapin assisted with a detailed programme of stakeholder and community engagement in a sensitive part of Southwark where some developers had previously experienced hostility towards major schemes.  Terrapin’s insight and a thorough approach to political and community engagement contributed significantly to the project’s success when it was granted a consent by Southwark Council.
