Paris Garden and Hatfields
An innovative and sustainable office complex close to Blackfriars Bridge

Project Snapshot
The development, designed by Tate Hindle Architects, involved joining two buildings situated back to back on neighbouring roads to create 14,500m²of office space, a new landscaped courtyard and a new pedestrian connection through the site in a sensitive part of Southwark. The application sought planning permission and listed building consent for the re-use and extension of 4-5 Paris Garden and redevelopment of 18-19 Hatfields. Terrapin assisted with a detailed programme of stakeholder and community engagement in a sensitive part of Southwark where some developers had previously experienced hostility towards major schemes. Terrapin’s insight and a thorough approach to political and community engagement contributed significantly to the project’s success when it was granted a consent by Southwark Council.- Location
